Mohn était le dernier "Hanseatische Kaufmann" et fut discerné le titre de "Stadskapten". Le domicile sur Strandgaten resta dans la famille jusqu'en 1880. Mohn était considéré droit et réligieux qui vécu entièrement pour sa famille et sa société. Il ne participa pas dans la vie public.
